Crete. If you have ever been lucky enough to have travelled to Greece’s largest island, the saying “If you know, you know” will make complete sense to you.

This island has a way of being non imposing, and completely captivating at the same time, just step off the plane, and this place will become apart of some of your most treasured memories. From its beautiful and completely enchanting natural elements, to its incredible history, this island has so much to offer.

As a group of people (us) and now a company, that has been inspired by this magical place, we could go on and on about the positives of spending a lazy summer on one of the stunningly gorgeous, world recognised beaches, or eating amongst history in the old town of Chania. BUT trust us, we will be sharing all we know and love about this gem of the Mediterranean.

HOWEVER, some of the things that most people don’t know about this special place, is that it is a global (that’s right, global!) epicentre for Olive growth. Crete actually produces around 50% of Greece’s entire Olive oil haul per year.

Crete has the unique agricultural advantage of not only some of the oldest known Olive Trees (in the same region as our grove) dating back as far as 4000 years, but they are known for growing the Olive type “Koroneiki” which is also affectionately referred to as the “Queen” Variety AND THE VARIETY OF OUR GROVE. THIS OLIVE gained the name and reputation due to its naturally high unsaturated fatty acid and antioxidant properties.

These little nuggets of gold really are the treasures of Crete. The locals have always known what they have here, and base a large amount of value on the daily consumption of Olive oil in the Cretan diet.

And now, with the help of family who still live in this paradise, we are bringing this Oil to you.

Because honestly, it would be rude not too.
